American Geriatrics Society

The American Geriatrics Society (AGS) is a professional organization dedicated to improving the health, independence, and quality of life for older adults. Founded in 1942, the AGS is a non-profit organization that represents healthcare providers, researchers, and other professionals who work with older adults.

The AGS promotes geriatric education and research, as well as advocacy for public policies that support older adults. The society offers a range of resources and programs to its members, including:

  • Educational and training opportunities, including conferences, webinars, and continuing education courses
  • Research grants and funding opportunities for researchers working on projects related to geriatrics
  • Clinical practice guidelines and tools for healthcare providers working with older adults
