Insurance

Do you accept insurance?

Lifestyle Medical Supplies does not deal directly with insurance companies. This allows us to provide cost effective solutions for the supplies you need in a timely and effective manor.

Here are several reasons why someone might choose to purchase medical equipment out of pocket and seek reimbursement from their insurance company:

  1. Coverage limitations: Insurance plans may have limitations on the types of medical equipment that they will cover or may require prior authorization before coverage is approved. By purchasing the equipment out of pocket, individuals can ensure that they are getting the specific equipment that they need without having to worry about coverage limitations.
  1. Faster access to equipment: Insurance coverage for medical equipment can sometimes involve a lengthy approval process, which can delay access to the necessary equipment. By purchasing the equipment out of pocket and seeking reimbursement, individuals can get access to the equipment they need more quickly.
  1. Quality and customization: Some individuals may prefer to purchase medical equipment out of pocket in order to have more control over the quality and customization of the equipment. By purchasing the equipment, themselves, they can choose the specific brand and model that best fits their needs and preferences.
  1. Flexibility: Purchasing medical equipment out of pocket allows individuals to have more flexibility and control over their healthcare decisions. They can choose the equipment and providers that they feel most comfortable with, rather than being limited by the options provided by their insurance company.

It is important to note that while seeking reimbursement for medical equipment can be a good option for some individuals, it may not be the best option for everyone. It is essential to carefully review the coverage details and limitations of your insurance plan, as well as the costs and reimbursement process involved in purchasing medical equipment out of pocket, to determine the best course of action for your situation.

How do I submit a reimbursement code to my insurance company?

To submit a reimbursement code to your insurance company, you will typically need to follow these steps:

  1. Obtain the necessary documentation: You will need to gather all of the necessary documentation related to the medical equipment or service for which you are seeking reimbursement. This may include the itemized receipt or invoice, proof of payment, and any required medical documentation or prescriptions.
  1. Check your insurance plan: Review your insurance plan to determine the specific requirements and limitations for submitting reimbursement codes. Some insurance plans may require pre-authorization before reimbursement is approved, while others may have specific deadlines or forms that must be used.
  1. Submit your claim: Once you have gathered all of the necessary documentation and determined the requirements of your insurance plan, you can submit your claim to your insurance company. This can typically be done online, by mail, or by fax. You will need to provide the reimbursement code(s) for the medical equipment or service, along with any other required information.
  1. Follow up on your claim: After you have submitted your claim, it is important to follow up with your insurance company to ensure that it is processed in a timely manner. You may need to provide additional information or documentation or follow up on the status of your claim.
