Elderhostel

Elderhostel is a non-profit organization that provides educational and travel opportunities to older adults. It was founded in 1975 with the goal of offering affordable and enriching learning experiences for people over the age of 55.

In 2009, Elderhostel changed its name to Road Scholar to reflect its broader mission of promoting lifelong learning and exploration.

Road Scholar offers a variety of educational and cultural programs both domestically and internationally, covering a wide range of topics such as art, history, science, and nature. Participants can choose from a variety of programs that include lectures, field trips, workshops, and other hands-on learning experiences.

The programs are led by expert instructors and are designed to promote social interaction and cultural exchange among participants. Accommodations and meals are often included in the program cost, making it a convenient and affordable way for older adults to travel and learn.

Road Scholar programs are open to people over the age of 50, and participants come from a wide range of backgrounds and interests. The organization has received numerous awards for its commitment to lifelong learning and promoting educational opportunities for older adults.
