Parkinson's disease is a brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrolled movements. Those living with Parkinson's disease will experience shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. This disease can place a great strain on the body making you more vulnerable to serious and life-threatening infection.
Parkinson's disease is caused by a loss of nerve cells in your brain. Early symptoms may include a tremor, or rhythmic shaking in your hand or fingers, slowed movement, rigid muscles, impaired posture and balance, loss of automatic movements, speech changes and writing changes.

How long does it take for Parkinson's disease to progress?Â
The progression of Parkinson's disease varies, it can range from a few years to several decades. The final stage of Parkinson's is stage five. In this stage people will experience severe posture issues in their backs, neck, and hips. They will require a wheelchair and may be bedridden.Â
